The version of the dynamic you never chose, running since before you could read anything at all. This is the operation with the deepest access and the oldest alibi.
Thank you for your excellent and rare articulation of real phenomena that are embedded in at least 20% of adults who survived the deep catastrophe of child-dehumanizing family dynamics. Your writing is highly refined and effective for people to access.
I absolutely love your wise conclusion, it reminds me of the ancient truth understood by mystics, and documented by quantum physics truth, that observing something changes it. Your framework is highly accessible. The sequential logic you offer for the survivors who need it the most, is stellar -a shining star above much of the self-help literature - a North Star for the inner child's soul survivor navigation (the decades-old book for child survivors by Dr. Patrick Gannon, titled Soul Survivors , comes to mind).
You probably already know of Dr. Karen Mitchell's research - she has grouped malignant narcissists, psychopaths, extreme manipulators, and coercive controllers into one umbrella, Persistent Predatory Personality, in other words, human predators. The hidden dimensions of many Western industrial families is a microcosm upon which the macrocosm of domination & destruction is undergirded.
The military term you use, "operation," is true language for generational reproduction of injurious violent harm, which hijacks, and spiritually cannibalizes, many human development trajectories. Some 2/3 of survivors eventually find their way to post-traumatic growth and sustainable resilience at some point, however, the years stolen by the operation are years subjugated to impairment which can seriously hinder the human right to a dignified livelihood, higher education, mental and/or physical health, new extended family networks, etc. Fortunately, people who crack the exit code and re-enter soul sovereignty can, and do, have nonlinear equations in their favor for the vitality and serendipity of the recovery trajectory: the exact thing that the power structure is intent on erasing, limiting, reducing, etc.
Thanks again!
P.S. Your work might be even more accessible for visual thinkers, and the many different types of visual processing disorders, w/ just one highlighter color in paragraphs, and the other color just for headers, to prevent the sort of cross-eyed, neuiromuscular effect of multicolor processing whilst also having other significant brain networking going on. :)
Thank you, this is one of the most generous readings this piece has received, and the Gannon reference is appreciated.
I'll take the accessibility point first, because it's the most actionable thing here: you're right, and I'm implementing it. One colour for headers, restraint in the body. The work is only accessible if it's actually accessible and form is structure too.
On 'soul sovereignty': that's the word for the reclamation that happens after the exit code is cracked. I stay with the more mechanical reading — reclaiming the trajectory that was hijacked — but your frame is what makes it meaningful to people. The framework doesn't promise spiritual transformation. But what survivors actually build after they stop the meter is often close to what you're naming.
One place I'll hold a line, because precision is the whole project: I stay away from personality categories, including umbrella ones. Not because the behaviour isn't real, the piece exists because it is, but because the framework deliberately refuses the question "what are they?" in favour of "what does the system do?" The moment I adopt a label for the person, I've moved the reader's attention back to the side of the line they can't verify. Everything they need is on the side they can see: the conduct, the pattern, the record.
On observation changing things: the operation requires a reader who can't read. The moment you read it, as pattern, as record, as what's actually happening, the system loses its condition. Reading doesn't change reality. It changes what the system can do.
The point you make about stolen years is the one I'd underline. The costs are real: trajectories, health, education, networks. The framework doesn't promise those years back. It promises the reading that stops the meter running. What people build after that has surprised me more than once, which may be your nonlinearity showing up in the data.
Thank you again, comments like this sharpen the work
Thank you for your considered reading and reply. I love how you intentionally center what the system does - the systemic human predator level. Yes, the costs of stolen years are real, and when the meter finally stops running, the greatest wealth - knowledge of self - provides something great to stand on/with, and wings to fly. I am happily anticipating your book!!
I'm a visual thinker myself so I appreciate your thoughtfulness in bringing that up. Using single physical metaphors helped me personally to organize all of my experiences that I had with this so that I could process it, understand it, and learn from it. It's here if you're interested (starting at Chapter 2).

I'd be interested in taking a look! There is no link in your comment, so am unsure where to find the Chapter 2?
Oh sorry about that! https://independentreporter1789.substack.com/p/how-reddit-is-gaslighting-you#§chapter-2-the-tactics
